Germany wins 'Deutschland Cup'
Germany delivered a great advertisement for the upcoming 2010 World Championship as they won the annual ‘Deutschland Cup' for the first time since 1996. The German team fell to the U.S. in a shootout and then beat Slovakia in a shootout. In the last game of the tournament they easily won the deciding game against Switzerland 5-1. So Germany holds up the European flag and left the big USA behind.

Not even 20 days after the ending of the 3-Countries Conference in Magglingen the bfu made all presentations of the conference available as a webcast! Although it was a German-speaking conference and therefore the webcasts are in German either, hopefully the precious contents will assist to promote sports injury prevention throughout Europe.

Spain wins the Title!
World Champions in 2006, second place at the EuroBasket in Madrid 2007 and now winner of the EuroBasket 2009 in Poland. Spain overpowered Serbia 85 - 63 in the final and underlines their dominant role in European Basketball one more time. Our congratulations to the well-deserved winners from Spain and the young team from Serbia that also did a fantastic job! Although the most important thing is, that no injuries occured during the final. We also want to congratulate our partner FIBA-Europe for the great organization of the tournament!
